I am really excited about this easy fall banner made and apple bar recipe!

When I started this banner I couldn't wait to get it done! It was amazingly easy and fun to put together with the Big Shot and the Stampin' Up! French Foliage stamp set. I don't do very many 3-D or Home Decor projects, but maybe I will have to change that now.

French Foliage Banner

I absolutely love the Autumn Spice card stock available in the Holiday mini-catalog that I ordered 2 right off the bat and am I ever glad that I did. I have been going through it like crazy. I have used it both with the Day of Gratitude set and the French Foliage set and it looks great.

Mom's Apple Squares

3 large eggs
1/4 tsp of salt
1 3/4 cup sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1tsp cinnamon
3 cups chopped unpeeled Braeburn or Gala apples (I did peel mine)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup powdered sugar
1 TBS butter, softened
2 to 3 TBS milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat a 15 X 10 inch jelly-roll pan with nonstick baking spray and flour; set aside.

In a large bowl, combine eggs and salt. Beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until frothy, about 1 minute. Add sugar and oil; beat until blended. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and cinnamon. Add to egg mixture; beat just until blended. Fold in apples, nuts and vanilla. Pour into prepared pan; spread evenly.

Bake 30 minutes or until lightly browned and set. Cool on a wire rack.

In a medium bowl, combine powdered sugar, butter, and enough milk to achieve a spreadable consistency. Spread over cake. When frosting has set, cut cake into bars.
