The Longest Day of the Year in North America and Decorating For The 4th

Rosette FireworksToday is the longest day of the summer here in North America and in our area it is a really long day. The sun rises at 5:58 am and sets at 9:53 pm. I realize that there are other areas where it is longer, but it seems pretty long to me. Try to explain to a 3 year old that it is still bed time even if the sun has not set. He tells me that the sun it up and it can't be time for bed.

The one thing I don't like is that fireworks have to be so late because of the late sunset. Now I realize that it is not a huge problem, but I get tired at night. Can you believe that the 4th of July is only 2 weeks away? I am decorating for the 4th today and can't wait to get up some of my decorations.

Folded Fireworks folded fireworkI have been working on these rosettes to decorate a shelf that I have in my entrance. The tighter rosettes Stapesfireworkare made with my Designer Rosette die and the rosettes with the wider folds are scored with the Simply Scored and then formed.

Just make sure you score the paper evenly. You also want to make sure your front and back flaps are folded in the same direction. I will post a picture when I have my shelf decorated.
