“The” Ornament From The Holiday Seasonal Catalog

I did it! I made the ornament from the front of the Stampin' Up! Holiday Seasonal catalog. I have had so many questions about it that I figured I had better make it so that I know the answers. I have photos of some of the steps.Ornament Keepsakes handmade Christmas Ornament

The ornament takes some time to prepare the paper, but it is easy to put it together. My 12 year old daughter looked at mine and then decided she was going to make one and she was able to do it by herself when just a couple of questions.

Step 1: Stamp and cut out 20 Old Olive ornaments. Stamp and cut out 20 Cherry Cobbler narrower ornaments. Fold 15 of the ornament pieces in half. (both colors) I have already glued (Tombow Multi-Adhesive) 3 of the folded Old Olive ornament pieces together and 3 of the folded Cherry Cobbler pieces together. I have also glued a flat Cherry Cobbler piece to the back of the Cherry Cobbler ornament.

Next Step:
Punch a 1 3/8" circle of Old Olive card stock. Glue (Hot Glue) the "top" end of the Old Olive Ornaments to the Old Olive circle. The ornaments should just have the top on the card stock and be next to each other. Glue a piece of the Cherry Cobbler Tulle in between each of the Old Olive Ornaments.

Next Step: Make a layer of the Cherry Cobbler ornaments by gluing them (Hot Glue) over the tulle between the Old Olive ornaments. You may have to hold them at an angle as they cool. Cut a length of linen thread and tie the end into a knot. Twist the linen thread and hot glue over the Old Olive ornaments.

Next Step: Run a 2" X 12" piece of DSP or solid color card stock through the Big Shot with the Designer Rosette Bigz XL die. Trim down to 1" X 12". I used a larger piece because that seemed to shift less as it was going through the Big Shot. Form the rosette and hot glue to the center of the ornament. Place a large pearl in the center of the Vintage Facet Button and hot glue to the center.

Next Step: Tie a length of linen thread into a circle. Lay down a strip of hot glue on the back of the ornament that will be the top. Lay down the linen thread with the knot to the center. Glue a cut out Old Olive ornament over the thread.

Glue the linen thread to the back of the top ornament.Next Step: Cover the back of the other four ornaments with flat Old Olive ornaments.

Cover the back of the ornament with stamped Old Olive piecesNext Step: Stamp the round ornament in Cherry Cobbler ink and then punch out with the 1 3/4" Circle punch. Glue to the center of the back with Tombow Multi-Adhesive glue.Ornament Keepsakes Back
