A Beautiful Handmade Stocking

I have not decided what I am going to do with these stockings made with the Big Shot and the Holiday Stocking Bigz Die yet, but I absolutely love them. They were inspired by stockings on display from the last Stampin' Up! convention. I am just drawn to cards, decorations, or projects that are done with neutral colors.

So my first thoughts are that I could tie them on to wrapped Christmas packages or make a banner. Just picture a gift wrapped in kraft paper, a ribbon that is a Soft Suede or Crumb Cake color wrapped around the package, and then one of these stockings tied to the ribbon with linen thread. Maybe I will wrap the teacher gifts with these stockings. It is a bit amazing to me that I am already thinking about how I will wrap teacher Christmas gifts and I school feels like it just started. I have no idea what I would give the teachers yet.

Stocking Die For The Big Shot
I know that I will be making more of these stockings because the second stocking was made so quickly after the first. Even though it may look like they are more time intensive to make, they go together fairly quickly when you realize the Big Shot does most of the cutting. The only cutting I did was cut a 3/4" X 4" piece of Very Vanilla card stock and then notch the ends of the sentiment with scissors. You can even cut multiples at once with the Big Shot.

  1. Christine this is absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing! I really like your idea of using craft colored paper for wrapping a package and using this as a tag.
