Handmade Cards for Cancer Awareness

While October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and it is important to get yourself checked for breast cancer, it seems like lately I have relatives and friends that are being touched by other types of cancer. I am posting this card for all those touched by any type of cancer.

The words stamped across the top of the card are from a retired stamp set Stampin' Up released a while back as a fundraiser set. I pulled the butterflies from the Papillon Potpourri and the sentiment from the Snowflake Soiree set. I like when I can use a seasonal stamp set for a different purpose.

Emboss Resist Technique: I stamped the words with VersaMark, sprinkled on white embossing powder and heat set. After the embossing powder was cooled, I sponged Regal Rose ink over the embossing. Wipe off the ink over the words and you have emboss resist.

My card was inspired by the theme over at CAS-ual Fridays Challenge CFC73. I love challenges because they stretch my stamping. I hope you were inspired by today's card.

Have a great day!
