The 5″ X 5″ Handmade Card Envelope MeasurementsPosted by Christine Miller on Jul 19, 2013 in Cards, Uncategorized | 0 comments
I am back with a 5″ X 5″ card with the measurements for the rectangle size envelope to hold this card. Of, course I have to admit that I added a button to the card and so there went the flat card out the window, but doesn’t the button look so cute with the Six Sided Sampler Set? I am going to use a piece of card stock over the front and bring it to the post office to see if would be able to go with one stamp. I have learned that different post offices enforce the rules differently.
I have been having fun with the Washi Tape and used it for the greeting and around the edge of the card. When you stamp on to the Washi tape be sure to use the Stazon ink.
So back to the rectangle envelope:
- Start with the 9″ X 9″ piece of paper or card stock.
- Score at 4 7/8″ on two of the angles.
- Score at 3 5/8″ on two of the angles.
- Fold the score lines.
- Snip the top two corners.
- Glue the bottom flaps.
- The minimum size for a 5 inch square envelope is 5 1/8″ X 6 3/4″
Watch my video for the 6″ X 6″ envelope to see how to put this together. Just the dimensions are changed. When you are finished your scoring should look something like the following chart. It is not to scale.
