Here's What I Did

Ok, here is how I used the trading cards that I made. I had so many ideas for the flower card, but I am very happy how the scrapbook page turned out. I can see making more trading cards in my future. I think it would be fun to make a few trading cards and "trade" them and then see what I could do with them. 

In the next mini-catalog, Stampin' Up! will be introducing a really neat trading card album.  I think it would be really fun to make up a few of the trading cards and then keep them on had for the focal point of projects.

What's old is fun again

Artist Trading Cards (ATC) have really become popular.  In 1999 when I attended the Stampin' Up! convention, the most popular swapping item was trading cards. I have a couple of folders of cards that I received at the 1999 convention.  I still have them so I was able to pull them out for inspiration for these cards. Demonstrators have kind of moved away from trading cards to card fronts. 

I am not much of a swapper and did not really see as much of a purpose behind trading cards.  However, recently I have been reading and following the trend of ATCs and have heard of a few ideas on how to actually use the trading cards.  Some stampers have been using them to layer onto card stock to create cards or use them for embellishments on scrapbook pages.

ATCs are 2.5" X 3.5" and have a few rules that strict ATC artists follow.  I follow the rules loosely when I make ATCs.  If you want more info about ATCs you can check here: Artist Trading Card Site .  Check back tomorrow to see what I do with these trading cards I made up.

New Product, New Pages

I am so excited about the new Scrappin' Kits from Stampin' Up!. I can see more scrapbooking in my future.  This page was done with elements from the At Home kit and one of the chipboard letters. 

This was such a fun event to scrap because I was so proud of the determination my 6 year old daughter had when climbing the wall. She definitely puts her mind to finishing what she starts. It is fun to see the personalities and characteristics of my children developing. 

Scrapbooking A Vacation

I am going to complete a scrapbook and I am so excited! Usually just scrapbook pages of things here and there, but I am now on a mission to actually scrap one vacation. This is the title page for my book.  I am organizing the photos so I have everything printed.  The digital camera is a wonderful invention, but it does make it easy to not actually have the prints in hand. My printer is not high quality, so I usually run my pictures to Wal-Mart to get printed. Uploading them would be to the way to go if I actually had a faster connection.  Oh well, I guess you can't have everything. I will post more pictures as I work through this vacation.  As you can see, I am right up to date!

I've been waiting for this set!

This set has been on my wishlist for a long time!

Since it made the new catalog, I decided it was time to actually order it.  I have seen so many great cards made with this set.  I took the time to make a sample today.
