Simply Sent Kits

My Simply Sent kit arrived today. I had to set it out so that you can see what is included in one kit. One great thing about the kit is that the rubber images are dye cut and all you have to do is pop them out and mount them on the wood block. You can go from opening the box to stamping very quickly. It is even quicker to get cards done because all the supplies are cut  and ready for stamping.

I stamped up the two sample cards included with this set. There are directions included so that you can stamp exactly as the samples are shown. Late Happy Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I unfortunately was in bed suffering from a stomach flu. So today I am up and around and wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving.

I am posting a card idea from a class I taught a while ago. This was a card using a variety embellishments. I dyed the twill tape with a classic ink re-inker to coordinate with the card colors and then tied it around a piece from hodgepodge hardware.  This card also used a button in the center of an image from the Riveting stamp set.

New Stamps

My new stamps arrived! I have just had a little bit of time to play with the Latte set and  Carte Postale. The new Winter Mini-Catalog has so many great sets and new paper. This card uses the Carte Postale set, French Flair background stamp and new designer paper.   

Designer Label Punch

 

My stash of thank you cards has been exhausted and I needed to make some to  replenish my supply. I pulled out the designer label punch because it has been a while since I used the punch and created this thank you card. When I am doing workshop prep or samples I do not always have the time to completely create something from scratch. I will take a card that I have previously made or a card idea that I have saved and tweak it. But with this card it was mine from the start. It feels good to have stamping sessions like that every once and a while.

 

New Stamps/Coffee cup

They came! I received my first pre-order of stamps from the new Winter Mini-Catalog. The new selections of stamps and accessories from the next mini-catalog is wonderful and I am finding it hard to resist them. Watch my web site over the next few days to see more samples using these sets. Today  shows part of the samples from the coffee cup class. There are still spaces open for the next Tuesday class.

New Tin Purpose

It is so much fun altering these lunch tins! I have recently seen samples of the recipe box tin and decided to try it out. Here is a picture of my results. Cd Card

Here are two pictures of the cd card class sample. I really enjoyed putting this sample together and cannot wait to make some more of them. I will need to put together a couple of these that will be suitable for teen age boys. That will be interesting. We usually pick out gift cards two of our nephews.  When I make the cd cards for our nephews, I do not think that I will put in as many folded pages. I will not be adding any photographs so they will not be necessary. You could also eliminate the gift card holder and just make it into a photo card .  The class will be on December 14th at 6:30 and there are 2 spots left. Let me know if you would like one.

I did this page for a workshop recently. I really like the way I have seen the riveting stamp set used like a washer and new I wanted to use it on this page. "Think Big" is a set I purchased from the Holiday Mini-Catalog and it just has not seen enough action. I have been doing so many Christmas things that this set has taken a back seat. My purpose in buying this set was to use it in scrapbooking. I see so many possibilities for this set. I just need to turn my focus from Christmas to other things. "Think Big" will only be available until the end of November.

I always hear that it is so hard to keep up with scrapbooking. Or, I just don't know where to start. This page is an example of my kind of scrapbooking. These pictures were taken several years ago and they are just completed. I really jump around and scrap just some of my pictures. I like that freedom and then do not have any pressure. The kids appreciate the pages and will not care if I have done every picture. They really enjoy looking at the ones that are completed. 

I am also a simple scrapbooker. I tend to get the photos and the message on the page with just a few embellishments. I like the photos to be the purpose of the page. I am hoping to share more scrapbooking in the future.

Holiday Thyme Paper

Here is a card made with the Holiday Thyme paper. I will miss this paper after the Holiday Mini-Catalog is done. I will have to order more of this paper before the end of the month.

Chalked City of David

I think I will have enough City of David samples to do all my cards. I really like this set and think that it works really well with the chalks or pastels. The city image is also inked up with markers to get all the different colors. I have also used fine black embossing powder for the sentiment. It makes the verse to show up really well over the image stamped underneath. I used the ticket corner punch to get the corners curved. It makes a nice focal image.
