Goodbye Fishy Friends!

The stamp set "Fishy Friends" is on the list to be retired at the end of June. I have had a lot of fun with this set and its cute sea friends. I also used the Everyday Flexible Phrases set for the greeting. I punched out the greeting using the Word Window Punch. I just punched out the words and then snipped the extra card stock off to make the smaller tags. Watch for more ideas using the word window punch coming up here on my web site.

Graduations!

Are you ready for your graduation parties? Hopefully you are more prepared than I was. Yesterday I was making this card shortly before I needed to be at the graduation party.

When I make graduation cards I try to use the school colors and the year so it kind of guides the direction of my card. One of these years I will be ahead of the game and have my cards ahead of time. It seems like I often have birthday and thank you cards, but I rarely just sit down to make graduation cards.

Fun Photography Night

Here is one of the make and takes from the  Photography  Scrapbooking class on May 22nd. We had such a great time and learned so much from photographer Brandy Torvinen. Check out Brandy's web site, it is fantastic.

We learned so much about ways to improve photographs and what pictures to take to record events. I can not wait to work on improving my photographs and take more pictures. If I take more pictures, that means that there will be more scrapbooking.

This mini-scrapbook project has an outer layer made from a transperency sheet and stamped with white Stazon. The middle pages are made from designer paper. The pages are tied with twine and ribbon.

Butterfly House Page

I have been working so hard on my scrapbook pages from our Arizona trip. I would really like to have my book completed by Tuesday, the night of my photography/scrap class.  It has been so fun to see this book coming together. I will share more pages in the next few days.

Quick Accoutrement

Last night I only had time to do a quick card and this is what I came up. I was so excited to get this set and just have not had a lot of time to work with it, so I was glad I had a little bit of time last night. I need many "Thank You" cards so I was happy this did not take much time. Sometimes I really like the simple cards better. Enjoy.

Wheels are going fast!

The wheels have sold out so fast!!! I was going to use this wheel tonight as my workshop because it was on the retiring list, but it is gone already. Only two of the retiring wheels were still available in ample supply as of this morning. There are still a few wheels staying for next year, but now I am getting excited to see what will be coming out in the next catalog.

I made this card for Teacher Appreciation week at my children's school. I like using the wheels for backgrounds and on scrap pages. I also used the Office Accoutrement set and the spiral and round tab punch.

Palette of Paper

It arrived yesterday! I had a chance to put something together today with my special palette of paper from Stampin' Up! It is a preview pad of 6X6 paper. The paper will be available in the next catalog in 12X12. The patterns are beautiful. In fact, on most pieces I will have trouble deciding which side to use. Often it is not a problem because one side is just not my style.

The card today as a little more dimension then I usually use, but it was a lot of fun to create. There is a dimensional between the two flowers to give it lift. I love the colors and the sparkles in real life are gorgeous. The apricot appeal does not look as true in the picture tonight.

Wheels Rolling Out

Since Stampin' Up! announced the retirement list on Tuesday, the demand for the retiring Stampin' Around wheels has been high. They have been updating us daily on what is still available. You can click on the following link to see what is still available.  Wheel Availability List.  Once the retired list is sold out, those wheels are no longer available.  Stampin' Up! manufactures its own stamps so all retiring stamp sets will be available until the end of June. Contact me soon if you want a retiring wheel and by the end of June if you want a retiring stamp set.

Reverse Masking

Did you see the  directions for this card in my newsletter? This technique is called reverse masking. Make sure you subscribe to my newsletter if you want to receive directions for techniques. I include at least one per newsletter.

I used the hostess set called "Both Way Blossoms" and "Warm Words". The roses are colored in with ink and the aquapainter.  The Regal Rose square is sponged.
