No More Hoarding

Are you like me? I don't tend to use my special embellishments like the Hodgepodge Hardware. I decided today is the day to break open the box and actually use one of the hardware pieces. I don't usually have any problem using the designer paper, but the special embellishments are just harder to use.

This card uses the Stampin' Up! hostess sets So Many Styles and Garden Silhouettes. It took me a bit of time to think I need the Garden Silhouettes, but now that I have it I realize all the possibilities of this set.

Paper: Apple Cider, Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip, River Rock.

Stamps: Garden Silhouettes, So Many Sayings.

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi

Embellishments: Double Stitched Wild Wasabi ribbon, Hodepodge Hardware.

Stamping on Candles

I tried this technique ages ago and have not done it recently. I ran across some samples recently and then saw some candles similar to this in The Pottery Barn catalog and decided to try it again. I did use this retired Stampin' Up! Ferns set because it would go into my bathroom so well. I am sure that I did make my candle for a fraction of the cost of the candles in The Pottery Barn catalog. This technique was so much easier than I remembered so I think that it is time to make a few more of these candles for the holiday season.

It's September so I am scrapping snow pages.

Really this is the page I demoed at my workshop this past week. I wanted to show the jumbo Snow wheel from the Stampin' Up! Holiday mini catalog and thought these pictures fit it perfectly. I used pictures from a early spring snow storm we had in April. Let's just say the kids liked the snow much more than I did. In the Houghton/Hancock area the snow usually lasts later than other parts of the state, but it is just unfair to get that much snow after it was already almost all melted. My kids are already counting down until we get snow again. It can wait as long as it wants to in my book.

Supplies: Snow jumbo wheel, The Snow Spot stamp set, white craft ink, white gel pen, Soft sky and Blue Bayou card stock.

Outlaws Wanted!

I am using the Simply Scrappin' Kit "Round Up" from Stampin' Up! to scrapbook some of the picture from our trip to Arizona. It is perfect for the photos of the train trip up to the Grand Canyon. I am very excited to scrap these pictures because the scrappin' kits make it so easy and quick. It will be so nice to use this kit for the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam portion of our trip.

I promised my stamp club that I would have more done before the next meeting, so keep checking back for more pages.

Kraft Snowman

I was surfing card sites last night and ran across a layout very similar to this one and I knew that I needed to stamp up a snowman card. I think one thing that attracted me to this card layout was the use of the large eyelet. I really like them and have not found as many reasons to use them. I thought the large eyelet just fit this card so well.

I used the craft ink and Stazon for the snowman.

Ronald McDonald House Benefit Day!

Here is the card that the Ronald McDonald House charity benefit  participants will be making to send on to the house. This card uses Ronald McDonald House set called "Just Like You". This set is available in the Fall/Winter Stampin' Up! catalog.

This event will take place on Saturday, October 6th in Houghton and will have a children and adult portion. I am also accepting additional donations that will be sent on to the Marshfield Ronald McDonald House. All proceeds from this event will be sent on to the Ronald McDonald House.

I used Ballet Blue, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Whisper White card stock, Soft Sky, So Saffron, VersaMark and Whisper White Craft ink.

Primary Colors Scrappin' Kit

I had a lot of fun this evening creating this book from the Primary Colors Scrappin' Kit  available in the Stampin' Up! Fall/Winter catalog. The great thing about it was that I was able to complete the entire book in just a few hours. The kit had all of the card stock and die cuts all in one kit. I did use my Bind-It-All to hold it all together.

I plan to use this book to keep the highlights of my son's year in Kindergarten. He is my third child starting school, but it is so fun to look at school again through a fresh perspective. So far (all two weeks of it) have been just great through his eyes. Now I just have to get the pictures taken and this book is all ready to complete.

The first two images are the cover and then the first page. After the first page the rest of the pages are two page spreads. The size of this book is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" 

Designer Paper Chipboard

Here is another card from the chipboard class. In this sample the technique was covering chipboard with designer paper. The participants glued down chipboard with the Everywhere  glue Stick from the Stampin' Up! Fall/Winter catalog and then sanded the edges to make them blend. This star square chipboard has a little chipboard star that pops out of the center.

The colors I used were Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky, and Purely Pomegranate. I also used the spiral punch to get the holes along the bottom of the piece of white card stock. I have been using so much of the double stitched ribbon because it adds such a nice touch to your projects.

Painting Chipboard

This card is one of the cards that the people in my chipboard class completed tonight in Houghton. The class used pieces from the On Board Blossoms & Basics chipboard assortment to learn different chipboard techniques.  This assortment is available in the Stampin' Up! Fall/Winter collection along with other assortments. The Holiday catalog also includes the Trimmings assortment that is available for a limited time.

The technique on this card was painting with acrylic paint and then over stamping with craft ink.

 

This card also uses the Cutie Pie designer paper, Priceless, Rhinestone brads, and Sincere Salutations.
