Occasions Stars

Here is a "In The Stars" sample that can be used for a graduation card. So many people have seen this set and decided to use cards made with this set for graduation. This card looks a bit different in person because the second star is lifted with dimensionals and does not look quite so flat. I am looking forward to making more cards with this set.

Time Well Spent Birthday

I'm back with a sample using the sprinkles from the Occasions catalog. I used the Tombow multi glue to adhere the sprinkles to the flowers from the "Time Well Spent" set. I used the pink sprinkles on the the tulip and clear on the petals of the other flowers. The chunky sprinkles have a different look than the fine glitter. It looks better in real life and works really well with stamp set.

I hope this springy card makes you think spring today. At times today it looks like we live in a snow globe.

Spring Tin with Rub Ons

Doesn't this tin just make it feel more springy? It does for me and we still have many, many inches of snow on the ground. I saw a tin on a web site today and thought about the Spring Fling Designer Paper. The white rub-ons from the Sale-A-Bration set called Love & Happiness worked so well with the paper. I think it would be so fun to put some candy in this tin or little note cards and give it to someone to share that spring feeling. I know that if my daughter sees this tin she will claim it immediately.

Friendship Blooms and Felt Flowers

Friendship Blooms works so well with the Felt Flowers. My class last week featured the accessories that were introduced in the Spring/Summer Stampin' Up! catalog. I hope the people in my class enjoyed the cards as much as I enjoyed putting them together. The large flower from Friendship Blooms made a great background pattern for the card. There are only a little over 2 days left for Sale-A-Bration orders. Don't miss out!

Sale-A-Bration is almost over!

That's right! Sale-A-Bration is winding down and will be over soon. I made this card using one of the Free Sale-A-Bration sets called Merci. This set was not my favorite set at the start, however after seeing so many great samples I changed my mind. The focal image butterfly is stamped with Stazon on watercolor paper and then colored with markers and the aquapainter. The glitter does not show up on the scan as well as it does in real life. I wanted to add a bit more so I did the paper piercing. I do not do a lot of piercing, but I may have to do more in the future.

Occasions: In The Stars

For this card I used the set  " In The Stars" from the Occasions catalog. Stampin' Up! released their beautiful newsletter to the demonstrators yesterday and they had a sample similar to this card and I couldn't wait to give it a try. I basically followed their layout and changed just a couple of things. I love the colors and want to try a similar card with the Nursery Necessities set from the Spring/Summer Stampin' Up! idea book and catalog.

To get the multicolored focal star, I used the VersaMark and chalk Pastels. I inked up the star stamp with the VersaMark and stamped on the white card stock. Next, I covered half of the star with a post-it note and pounced on the Certainly Celery chalk on the right side. Then, I covered the colored portion of the star with the post-it note and pounced the Bashful Blue chalk on the left side.

Magnet Board Class

Here is a sample of the Magnet Board class coming up on April 17th at The Bluffs in Houghton. Click on the pictures if you want to see them larger. The class includes a 11"X14" frame with a metal surface, four magnets and two sheets of rub ons. I used rub ons on the metal surface and on the magnets. The cost is $18 and will easily be completed in one evening. Space is limited so sign up today.
