Faux Silk

Here is a sample of the Faux Silk technique that my club members had a chance to learn last week. The white leaf background is done with the faux silk technique. You can make the background a smooth or crinkled as you want. This card is done with the Embrace Life set and the Curvy Verses.

The Occasions Catalog is Wonderful!

Wow! I love the Occasions catalog. This is just my first sample of the many Occasions catalog stamp set I now own. (I think it may easier to count the sets I don't own.) I used the "In The Stars" and "Phrases For A Friend" to create this card. I used my Rose Red Craft Stampin' Spot to ink up the word "Celebrate" and then embossed it with clear embossing powder. I like these phrases because they are so fun to use complete or you can use some of the individual words.

One of my downline members was recently promoted to Senior Associate so I cannot wait to make a similar card for her using the "Congratulations" stamp.

I'm Back

Have you ever had a week that you wouldn't mind if it hadn't happened? Well, the last few days would be one of those weeks. My absence is due to a few family illnesses and an accident, but it looks like everyone is on the mend and things are looking up.

On to stamping items! This card uses the new bead duos that were introduced in the Spring/Summer catalog. I used one of the sticky cut letters and covered it with the bead duos. My stamp club tomorrow night will be trying their hands at bead duos. I learned a few things making this sample. One thing I would suggest is to attach the sticky cut letter to the card stock before adding all the beads. I did it differently and I have to say it was a bit tricky getting the letter in place.
