Wow! It is already the end of the current Stampin' Up! catalog. Tomorrow the 2009-2010 catalog will launch.

This sample is made from one of the retiring sets called Wonderful You! I really like this set and am disappointed that it is going away. There are however, many sets that are wonderful and I am sure that they will make it in to my collection.

These Colors are very Bold!

This card is for a bold person's birthday. These colors are so much more bold then last year's In-Colors. This card is mostly made on the Big Shot. I used the Flowers #3 die and the Texturz plate for the focal image and embossing. The greeting is from the new Stampin' Up! set called Teeny Tiny Wishes. Most of this card is a big sneak peek from the new Stampin' Up! catalog going live on July 1st. That is only 2 days away.

I will be featuring new stuff from the catalog on Tuesday, July 7th at The Bluffs in Houghton. This is open house style so be sure to stop by between 7:00 - 9:00 to have  fun time!

New Level 2 Hostess Set

Here is another hostess set from the new 2009-2010 Stampin' Up! catalog. This is a level 2 set in the new catalog called Wings of Friendship that will be available on July 1st.

I wanted to use this designer paper, but I am not sure if it is too busy for this card. I ran the card base through the Big Shot with a Texturz plate to get the embossed background. I like the bird image because it is large and make a good focal image. The oval is punched out with the large oval and the mat with the scalloped oval.

Simple Strawberries

I love card sketches and seem to always bookmark them. Well, today I decided to give one a try. I used Stampin' Up!'s Tart and Tangy because we finally have nice warm weather and the strawberries remind me of summer.

The sentiment is from the stamp set Short & Sweet. This set is a great go to set for sentiments.

I used the Fall-to Layout #41 from Clean & Simple Stamping. I did rotate the sketch because the strawberries were too wide to fit vertically. I think I will make similar cards using the other fruit from the set.

Quick & Simple Summer Card

Talk about quick, yet I really like it! The designer paper is from the Washington Apple set. I decided to accent the Tangerine Tango with Stampin' Up!'s Tart and Tangy stamp set.

I added glitter to the tangerine and adhered it to the bow. The Greeting is from the new level 3 hostess set Kind & Caring Thoughts.

Birthday Daisy

This card is inspired by summer. When I received the Summer Sun corduroy buttons, I knew that I wanted to use the flat ones with the Chocolate Chip buttons for the center of a white daisy. The greeting is from Stampin' Up!'s On Your Birthday set.

This card is almost completely done on the Big Shot. The floral paper is cut with the Top Note die, then I used daisies #2 for the flower and the leaf is done with the leaf sizzlit. I textured the card base with a Texturz plate.

Patriotic Color

One reason I like making patriotic cards is that for the USA the colors can be (don't have to be) the standard red, white and blue. This coming Thursday I am doing my first ever class that will include cards for July 4th. I think it will be fun to remember people at this time with a card made with Stampin' Up's Independence Day stamp set.

I wanted a bit more color for the fire crackers so I embossed them on colored card stock with clear embossing powder and then bleached the color out. The white fire crackers were just too white. I don't use bleach often, but this was the perfect way to use it.

Full Red Daisy

I ran across a card using the Big Shot Daisies #2 die to make a wonderful full flower and knew I wanted to try it myself. I love how this die looks with all the different layers.

I used Stampin' Up!'s retiring paper Sweet Slumber to make the flower and the designer paper background. The sentiment is from one of the preview stamp sets called Teeny Tiny Wishes. This sentiment set works so great with the word window punch and the new Modern Label punch (to be released July 1st!).

The new in-colors are very bright and fun. This card shows off new colors, new designer paper and one of the new level 3 Stampin' Up! hostess sets called Kind and Caring Thoughts. The oval greeting is from the stamp set Oval All.
