Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you and your family are enjoying your day. We thankful to be together and able to have such wonderful blessings.

Need an No Fail Treat for Thanksgiving?

Today I am going to make your life easier if you make fudge. That's right, I said fudge. I know this is a paper crafting blog, but with Thanksgiving coming up and we all spent all our time in the stamp room you need a great treat that will not fail. I tried other types of fudge and it was too hard or too soft. This recipe DOES NOT FAIL!

                4 cups of sugar
                2 sticks of butter
                1 can of evaporated milk

In a large pot combine the 3 ingredients above. Heat until the sugar is dissolved.

Add 30 large marshmallows and boil for 6 minutes.

Remove from heat and add 32 oz of Chocolate Hershey Bar. Pour into a greased jelly roll pan.

My daughter thinks she is going to bring this for her class Christmas treat. I don't know about that because it may never make it there.

Fun Stampin' Up! Dasher

Isn't this card fun! You want to know how I did the background paper? It is easily done with the embossing folders and the Big Shot. I will make a video about this technique after Thanksgiving. I absolutely love this Merry Christmas font from the Christmas Greetings set.

Autumn Harvest Rub-ons Card

I have never sent Thanksgiving cards, but this year I want to send a few. That means I need to get them out in the mail tomorrow! Wow, where is this year going? It doesn't feel like Thanksgiving weather so I really have not been in that frame of mind.

I am very thankful for having so many blessings and I decided to use the Autumn Harvest rub-ons to create my cards. The focal point on this card is made by rubbing the Give Thanks rub-on greeting on to Whisper White card stock and then sponging Elegant Eggplant ink over the rub-on. The rub-on will resist the ink and give a different look than if I had used Elegant Eggplant card stock.

The leaves are cut with the Leaves #2 die for the Big Shot using the Autumn Traditions Designer Series Paper. The branch is also from the Autumn Harvest Rub-ons.

Round Up Scrapping Saturday

All of the digital scrapbooking has given me the motivation to get some long neglected pages finished. That is why the Simply Scrapping kit is the retired kit called Round up. The two pages are actually two different photos which is why they do not line up exactly right. One great thing about the Simply Scrappin' kits is that it actually provides a complete set of papers and embellishments so I don't get stuck trying to think of what to use. Ok, that was a long sentence and I hope you followed it. I really like the Simply Scrappin' kits. Click on the each page to see them larger.

I am planning to post scrapbooking pages every Saturday. This way I will get more of it done and you will be able to see more pages.

Sweet Season Gift Card Tin

Well, here is the last package for the Packaging class coming up! I have been kind of spreading out the class samples over time. I used the Scalloped Envelope die for the Big Shot to make the holder for the gift card. To see a video on how I made the gift card envelope Click Here.

My Digital Studio Snowburst Teacher Card

My name was on the list, so I guess I am officially digitally certified. I am not sure if that is the actual way to say it, but it does mean that I am supposed to be able to answer questions about the
new digital software released by Stampin' Up! call My Digital Studio. I have worked with it enough so I know that I can answer most questions and I plan to work with it quite a bit more! I am planning my scrap our trip out east with the Digital Studio.

I was thinking about the teacher gifts today and decided to quickly make a card with My Digital Stuidio program. So far I have only shared scrapbook pages, but the program also allows you to create cards. One of the great things with the MDS is that you can include photos in your cards. In fact, watch for my Christmas card because I plan to make it with the My digital Studio.

Bird with leaves and flower Christmas Card

Clear cards, or cards made with acetate are really hard to photograph, but I did my best. I was looking through a magazine when something just came to me for this card. I really like the Bird with leaves and flower Bigz die for the Big Shot and thought it would look really beautiful for Christmas.

I used the Stampin' Up! Friends 24/7 stamp set for this card. I felt that it needed some texture for the bird so I stamped the damask image with Real Red on the Real Red bird. The damask is stamped with White Stazon. I had someone ask me the other day if the Stazon ink smelled because it is a solvent ink. I told her it is just the opposite, it doesn't kind of like almonds and the smell disappears very quickly.

The oval frame is also cut with the Big Shot and I placed another oval on the back side of the focal
image to cover the adhesive I used on the front.
