I am not sure if you can see in the first picture the piece of vinyl draped over the acrylic block, but it is the neatest thing since sliced bread!! That's the saying right. Anyway, if you want your cling stamps to stick to your acrylic blocks be sure to read on!
Edited to add: See a video of how this works.
My downline Cheryl told me about this about a year ago, but I just never got around to try it out. It is so worth it!
Now that I have raved about this vinyl, I will tell you what I did. I went to a fabric store and purchased a 1/4 yard of the lightest vinyl tablecloth they had and have been cutting them down to fit my acrylic blocks. The vinyl sticks to the block like magic and then the cling stamps stick to the vinyl.
They have not been popping off the blocks even with how dry it is at my house right now. The thin vinyl just stays right on my block ready for the next use.
I would recommend that you clean your block really well before your add the vinyl piece. The stamps even stay "stuck" while you are cleaning them off.
And the best thing! I got a ton of the vinyl for only 24 cents! You can't beat that price. It is only a quarter of a yard, but it is really wide.
Enjoy your Saturday!

Love this idea, but can you tell me this? Do you actually have to attach the vinyl to the block in some fashion, with tape or wrapping the vinyl completely around the block till it meets back up with itself and sticks that way, or what?
Thanks for your help and for this tip!!
Linda :)

Cut the vinyl to just slightly smaller than the size of the block. Just place it on the top of the block and press it on. It will cling to the block just like the cling stamps. In fact, even better.

Did you get this at the local big-box store? And, does it work even when you have the index stickers on the stamps? That's when I find I'm challenged - the stamps before the index stickers are on seem to stick really well.

Yes, I did in the fabric area. And yes it works with the index stickers really well.

Angela,
No problem, you are welcome to share on your blog.
It has been one of the best things I have done for my clear mounts.

Do the cling stamps cling with their cling stickers on or just the foam?

I actually made books using this kind of vinyl for storing my stamps. It never took off, no one wanted to buy them, but I made a few as gifts! lol

How can you then see where you are stamping? Isn't the point of a clear block so you know exactly where you will be stamping your image? Unless vinyl is clear I think it defeats the purpose.

Hi Gayle,
The vinyl is clear. Can you see the vinyl draped over the block on top? That is what you put on the block. You can check out my video here showing exactly how I do it. http://youtu.be/tkRlO1_6a3w
I hope this makes sense.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Saw this on Pinterest....usually my stamps cling to the block, but not today. Thanks for a great tip that I will soon try. I was a little shocked when I looked at your blog header...we have the same name!

Does it work with the new stamp pads? I'm having trouble getting the stamps to stick, the new stamp pads are so sticky it pulls them right off the block. The only think I have found to work is glue dots on the stamps.

Hi Susan,
Yes, it does work with the new pads and works just as great. It is still important to make sure the vinyl on your blocks and the back of your stamp are clean. You don't have to clean them every time you use them, but you should clean them from time to time.

As I live in the UK could I please ask you to jot down the details of this vinyl - so that I can see if we can get it in the UK. Many thanks. Angela
